We have partnered with the Vizient/AACN Nurse Residency Program™ to provide resources to help new nurses gain confidence and increase competence during this 12-month program.. Who is enrolled in a nurse residency program?. New graduates may start employment under Graduate Nurse license status (per the State of CT DPH guidelines) with pending license and must successfully complete first NCLEX testing and hold active license within 90 days from graduation date.. By completing the Nurse Residency Program, newly-licensed nurses are able to competently and safely manage a full patient assignment with confidence, and will be well-positioned to become future leaders in the nursing profession.
Provides patient care following the Florida Nurse Practice Act including competency in basic skilled nursing assessment and associated skills with a focus on a mental health diagnosis.. Completes a medication reconciliation at each SN visit and updates clinical team and physician of any changes, noncompliance, and or side effects. RN with a Master’s degree with a specialty in psychiatric or mental health nursing preferred.. RN with a Bachelor’s, Diploma or Associate degree in nursing with at least one year of recent nursing experience (within the last three years) in an acute treatment unit in a behavioral health or psychiatric hospital, psychiatric home care, psychiatric partial hospitalization program or other outpatient behavioral health services required.. Maintains BLS certification and assumes responsibility for maintaining required continuing education and unit specific credentials.
Develops patient centered goals , in collaboration with clients, their families and the rehabilitation team that are oriented to wellness behavior, are reality based, encourage socialization with others and promote maximal independence for patients with disabilities or chronic conditions..
