We have partnered with the Vizient/AACN Nurse Residency Program™ to provide resources to help new nurses gain confidence and increase competence during this 12-month program.. Who is enrolled in a nurse residency program?. New graduates may start employment under Graduate Nurse license status (per the State of CT DPH guidelines) with pending license and must successfully complete first NCLEX testing and hold active license within 90 days from graduation date.. By completing the Nurse Residency Program, newly-licensed nurses are able to competently and safely manage a full patient assignment with confidence, and will be well-positioned to become future leaders in the nursing profession.

The Nurse educator is responsible for designing, implementing, evaluating and revising academic and continuing education programs for HHA, PCA and Nursing Staff.. These include Home Health Aide (HHA) training and licensure, Personal Care Attendant (PCA) training, HHA/PCA orientation, formal academic programs that lead to certification, or more informal continuing education programs designed to meet individual learning needs (in-service training).. The nurse educator participates in quality improvement activities within the Agency promoting overall compliance with State and Federal guidelines and professional standards of practice.. Have the ability to be future-oriented to anticipate the role of the nurse in the future and adapt curriculum and teaching methods in response to innovations in nursing care..
