Provide health education and preventive health practices for students to promote, maintain and restore health.. Review student health status for placement in special programs and serve on Admission, Review and Dismissal (ARD) committees when requested.. Provide nursing services such as administering medication, peritoneal dialysis, catheterization, tube feedings and suctioning as directed by physician orders and/or city/state health regulations.. Assume responsibility for continuing education and submit evidence to the department of Health Services of registered nurse license renewal as well as screening certifications and Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation/Automated External Defibrillator (CPR/AED) certification on or before expiration date of renewal.. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse with the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners; Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation/Automated External Defibrillator (CPR/AED) certification; vision, hearing and spinal screening certifications must be acquired within 90 days of employment; one (1) year Registered Nurse experience OR five (5) years Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) experience.
